It is the intention of the ALAA to have a presence at as many major furry conventions as possible. This not only includes having a discussion panel as part of the scheduled events, but will also provide a means of getting as many people registering their interest in participating in the ballot process for the Award. It is intended that the presentations will be held at as many different furry conventions as can be managed within the timeframe constraints of the nominating and voting. That means that the presentations will be done within the period from early April to July. The 2012 Awards were held at Anthrocon on July 4, 2013, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and they'll be back there again for the 2016 Awards. The 2011 Awards were held at Califur on June 2, 2012, in Irvine, California. The 2010 Awards were presented at Morphicon in Columbus, Ohio. The 2009 Awards presentations were held at FA United in Mt Laurel, New Jersey. The 2008 Awards presentations were held at All Fur Fun in Spokane, Washington. The 2007 Awards were presented at Morphicon in Columbus, Ohio. The 2006 Awards presentations were held at Califur in Costa Mesa, California.
