In 2012, the A.L.A.A. instituted a Hall of Fame devoted to the people and anthropomorphic works that were a major influence on the anthropomorphic field as it developed into what it is today. The candidates are proposed by the members of the A.L.A.A. and voted upon until three finalists are chosen for that year. These winners are announced at a convention held in the latter half of the year as a complement to the Ursa Major Awards held earlier.

Please note that there was a Furry Hall of Fame presented at Confurgence each year that honoured people currently or recently active in the anthropomorphic field. The A.L.A.A. Hall of Fame concentrates on historical people or things. We endorse the Furry Hall of Fame as being significant but seperate from ours.
